  25. NEW FEATURES 
  26.  
  27. 1.  VirusScan detects unknown macro viruses by using 
  28.     heuristic scanning technology. It reports any unknown 
  29.     macro virus it detects as a "PROBABLE MACRO VIRUS."
  30.  
  31. 2.  VirusScan can detect and clean macro virus infections
  32.     in password-protected Microsoft Excel 95 files without 
  33.     removing or compromising the password protection.
  34.  
  35. 3.  VirusScan can now detect macro viruses in password-
  36.     protected German, French, Dutch, Italian, and 
  37.     Japanese (as well as English) Microsoft Office 
  38.     (Word 7.0) files. 
  39.  
  40.     VirusScan scans nearly all password-protected files. 
  41.     If it is not able to scan a password-protected file 
  42.     (for example, if the file is in a language VirusScan 
  43.     doesn't recognize), it displays an alert message on
  44.     the Virus Found page and marks the file "Not scanned" 
  45.     in the Infected Items Found list.

  47. 4.  If a password-protected Word 7.0 (Word for Office 95)
  48.     file is infected by a virus that can plant its own
  49.     password, VirusScan now cleans the file and removes the
  50.     password.

  52.     If a password-protected Word 7.0 or (Word for Office 95)
  53.     file is infected by a virus that cannot plant its own
  54.     password, VirusScan now cleans the file without
  55.     disturbing the password.

  336.  
  337. 1.  If you uninstall ScreenScan, Windows changes your
  338.     default screen saver to None. To choose a screen saver
  339.     to use, right-click anywhere on your desktop, then
  340.     choose Properties from the shortcut menu that appears.
  341.     Next, click the Screen Saver tab in the Display
  342.     Properties dialog box, then choose a new screen saver
  343.     from the Screen Saver list. Click OK to use the screen
  344.     saver you chose.
  345.  
  346. 2.  Using MS-DOS memory managers might cause VirusScan for
  347.     Windows 95 to falsely detect viruses in memory. Since
  348.     Windows 95 no longer requires MS-DOS memory managers,
  349.     you can eliminate false warnings by preceding each line
  350.     in your CONFIG.SYS file that includes settings for an 
  351.     MS-DOS memory manager with REM. This deactivates the 
  352.     memory manager. To learn more about working with your 
  353.     CONFIG.SYS file, see your MS-DOS or Windows
  354.     documentation.

  356. 3.  To create a VirusScan Emergency Disk, you must first
  357.     create a bootable floppy disk using the following
  358.     command at a DOS prompt:
  359.  
  360.     c:\>FORMAT A: /S/U
  361.  
  362. 4.  If you protect VShield or any scan task with a password,
  363.     you will be prompted to enter your password whenever you
  364.     launch an associated program. Use your mouse to click in
  365.     the text field provided in order to enter the
  366.     password -- keyboard shortcuts will not work. Microsoft
  367.     acknowledges this issue in its Knowledge Base Article ID
  368.     #Q84133. To close the password verification dialog box,
  369.     click Cancel.
  370.  
  371. 5.  The Status properties page for VShield Properties can
  372.     only be updated by closing and reopening VShield's Task
  373.     Properties window.
  374.  
  375. 6.  ScreenScan will stop scanning after it detects a 
  376.     virus and prompt you to launch VirusScan. If you have
  377.     additional viruses on your system, ScreenScan will not
  378.     notify you until the next time it activates. McAfee
  379.     recommends that you scan and clean your entire system
  380.     with VirusScan whenever ScreenScan detects a virus.
  381.  
  382. 7.  Disk defragmentation programs move files as they work to 
  383.     maximize hard disk efficiency. If you have VShield,
  384.     VirusScan or other applications active during a disk
  385.     defragmentation operation, your disk defragmentation
  386.     program might tell you that it cannot find the active
  387.     application files. This is normal and does not mean that
  388.     the files do not exist. To avoid error messages like
  389.     this, close all open applications and such memory-
  390.     resident programs as VShield, then run your disk
  391.     defragmentation o
